F.L.O.R.I.D.A

I go through stages of obsessiveness when it comes to my upcoming adventure. Sometimes I am able to focus on my life right now and be in the moment, other times, like right now, I feel like I am counting the the hours until I can check another day off my countdown.

Last night I was awake till 2am reading Disney ICP and CP blogs and watching YouTube videos. Ridiculous I know, it's not going to make a difference how much I know about what I'm getting myself into. Either way there are still four months to go. But I can't help it, I'm obsessed. (KelsieDoingDisney is my favourite channel)

So it only makes sense that I am dreaming of Florida...

And of course the #1 reason I will be in Florida in the first place...

And outside of Disney my heart lies with Harry Potter. Always.
Only 132 days to go my darlings!

A Lust List...

I have been on a clothes binge lately. I gave away a whole lot of my clothes I knew I never wore, and discovered I don't have many I do. And most of my clothes are at least four years old. I feel like I need a whole new wardrobe. It's getting to the point where I don't feel great in my clothes anymore...

But as I am poor and saving for America, I can't afford a whole new wardrobe, maybe one or two new pieces. Which leaves me lusting over every item I see on the interwebs...

Its slowly getting colder here and I am actually really excited. There is nothing I like more than snuggling up in cozy clothes, watching a film and drinking coffee. How adorable are these?
And for those nights where you just need to dance... I LOVE this dress! And those heels?! I die. The blue is such a great colour and so fun for a night out.
Night Out

What have you been lusting over lately?

14 - Peter Clines

The first two thirds of 14 have the makings of a truly fantastic book. It is everything you are looking for in a science fiction thriller. Mysterious apartment building, strange happenings, interesting characters, clues you can try and put together yourself; I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I love how Clines wrote about the apartment building itself. It was as though the Kavach building was a character in its own right. The way it was described made you feel like it was alive and changing as the story developed, as well as helping or hindering the protagonists along the way.

I also enjoyed the way we slowly learnt little bits and pieces about the inhabitants of the building. As certain apartments were drawn into the mystery, we learnt things about the people who lived in them. And you really got the feeling each little detail was adding to the developing plot. I was completely sucked in.

That is until the last third.

It got weird. Think Lost after too many seasons strange. It seemed to stray far away from the mystery/thriller vibe that it had built up, and focused solely on the science fiction based resolution, I was a bit disappointed. That’s not to say it became badly written or boring, I still enjoyed it, I was just hoping for something a little cleverer or less cliché. It lost the tightly written ‘pull you in’ feel that came before it, and branched out too wide and lost me. The well placed clues and details disappear as soon as we find out the truth.

All in all I would recommend this book to fans of the genres, for the most part it is a really good read, and who knows, you may be a fan of the ending; it just wasn't where I hoped it would go.

In My Life...

Watching Breaking Bad. I have finally jumped on the bandwagon and am loving this series! It took me too long to discover its epicness. Who else is a huge fan?!

Thinking About How much I'm loving playing netball again. My muscles are sore and I'm thoroughly enjoying it!

Listening To My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark - Fall Out Boy  &  Home - Phillip Phillips

Excited About Going to Fall Out Boy live in Auckland next Friday!! It will be my fourth time seeing them and I am so amped! 15 year old me is very happy right now!

Reading A Clash of Kings by George R. R. Martin. Yup still. And I'm still enjoying it, it's just rather long. Very worth it though, anyone else love this series?

Loving My {new} second hand phone. I am now officially on Instagram! Come find me

Drinking Lots of water right now, netball makes me thirsty. And always, always coffee.

Eating Fish & Chips for dinner... Typical New Zealander right here...

Missing Having all my friends in the same city. Its hard to stay in touch when everyone is busy with university or work. And playing guitar, for some reason I just haven't been motivated to play lately but I miss it. This will have to change!

Making Me Happy I don't have work tomorrow so I can sleep in!! I'm going to bake afghan cookies and watch movies all day. The icing on the cake would be if it rained... Ultimate cozy day!

For Your Entertainment...

Did anyone else hear the amazing news that a Veronica Mars movie is officially being made?!

Did anyone else squeal and jump up and down like I did?

I'm going to assume so, because the main reason the film has been greenlight is because of its fans. Warner Bros is the studio making all our dreams come true, and this is how it happened...

"The go-ahead from the studio comes roughly 24 hours after star Kristen Bell and creator Rob Thomas launched a Kickstarter campaign to solicit donations for a big-screen version of the cult CW show. The two set a $2 million fundraising goal, but as of Thursday afternoon, the project has surpassed that number and attracted more than $2.7 million in pledges from 45,665 donors."

Seriously?! How freakin cool is that!
Veronica Mars had such a cult following, and it really was a great show, so when it was cancelled, fans (including myself) were left with a crappy unfinished "ending" that just wasn't up to the shows standards. I am super excited to see how they bring Veronica Mars back to life! Judging by the video they sent out to attract pledges it's gonna be good...

Booh Yah Hollywood. Next up... Gilmore Girls the Movie (amiright?!)

The End of Life As We Know It...

Or something less dramatic.

That's right kids, the news has just broken and I'm getting straight in there to discuss it.

Google Reader will be no longer, as of July 1st. To be honest I'm kind of, momentarily, pissed. It's the way we all know and love to follow our favourite blogs. It's easy and simple.

But we will survive and adapt, and I'm sure in no time we won't even care.

So I am getting myself all set up with Bloglovin' now, in order to make the transition easier.

And I would love to have you join me :) I have already switched over all the blogs I follow so I can keep reading all your lovely blogs, so I hope you will switch over and join me too. So click on the icon below to follow me!! Come join the party!

Need some convincing? Paige has a great post outlining the benefits!
Now I just need to figure out the best way to utilise it... Any suggestions??

The Written Word...

Since I got my Kindle for my birthday I have been reading up a storm. I find that I find more time to read thanks to the kindle as I tend to take it most places, whereas I would often forget to pack books. But if I am at home with access to a real book, I will always prefer it! I am on fire lately, getting through books quite quickly which I am loving! I'm currently reading both A Clash of Kings and Red Dragon (I tend to have book ADD) and am switching between them when I feel like it.

Here are some of my most

I have to admit I struggled to get through the first book in this series. Not because it wasn't good (it was) but because I made the mistake of watching the TV series before I read the book and it was just so similar. Props to the creators of the show, because Book One follows Season One almost exactly, even most of the dialogue is taken directly from the book. made it a little difficult to stay focused when I knew exactly what would come next. Season Two strays from Book Two a bit more, and I'm enjoying A Clash of Kings a lot more.

Wow. I'm not sure what to say about this book. So uniquely written and with such a touchy subject, Emma Donoghue deserves recognition for that. I found it really easy to read this, I sped through it quickly and was completely drawn in. You really care about the characters and root for their success. It paints such an interesting picture on the horrors of kidnapping, and isolation. Definitely recommend this one!

I'm a sucker for the zombie genre, this book sounded like, and was, an interesting variation of the typical zombie/war novel. A middle aged man documents the zombie apocalypse on his blog as it plays out around him. Interesting concept, and sometimes interesting book, however it didn't quite pull me in as much as I hoped. It was slow moving at the start and occasionally throughout, however certain parts got rather exciting. So depends on your level of interesting in zombies for this one!

Home Alooone...

I drive home from work at 9pm. It's pitch dark outside on a Friday night, not many people are around, either at home or already in town enjoying the last of the 'after-work'drinks' circuit. I pull up my driveway and the house is dark. No windows lit up, nobody home.

I'm strange about being home alone. During the day I love it, indulge in it, watching too many movies, playing guitar as loud as I can, cooking delicious food I don't have to share. But at night it seems lonely. I can still do all the same things, but I don't. It feels weird cooking dinner at 9pm, it's verging on too late for a movie as I have work in the morning, and nights are to still and quiet to sing at the top of my lungs.
You also get weird I"M SO BORED photos of me. Sorry bout that, I'm gonna regret these in the morning.

It's kind of an awkward state of limbo, need to do something, don't know what to do. And yet if my family WAS here, I would probably be doing the exact same thing I'm doing now. Watching Pretty Little Liars for the billionth time. But I am here by myself, which means you get a weird, rambling blog post, where I attempt to write creatively to curve my boredom.
