The Happiest Place on Earth...

I am so so excited today! I woke up this morning to squeals of joy coming from downstairs. I obviously ran straight out to discover what on earth was going on!

My awesome friend and flatmate Abbie got an email telling her she had been accepted into the Disney International Internship Program!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As you may remember from this post we both went to the Disney meeting and Abbie interviewed (I'm waiting until September) and she totally got it!! I'm beyond excited and its not even me! She's off to Florida in January next year and if all goes well I will be joining her that August!

Eeeep! Happy happy times!

You Got The Love...

Squeeee!
I set off yesterday with my friend Rachel to go and see the one and only Florence & The Machine!!!!!
I have to say it was amazing! She honestly has one of theee best voices I have ever heard! And she's even better live!

On the road we were greeted with this gorgeous sight...

Auckland was definitely pulling out all the stops to greet us!

Once we got to the show we had to endure one of the most boring opening bands I have ever seen...
Blood Orange opened for Florence and turned out to be just one guy and his computer. Apologies if you like them but argh, I almost fell asleep!

But it gave us an opportunity to stalk the crowds
We managed to spot our friend before the lights went down, she went on to get on someone shoulders, take her shirt of and get Florence's attention. She got to give the pianist a kiss, and get a drumstick that Miss Florence herself had kissed. How cool is that?!

And as for Florence... WOW. Just wow. I managed to get a couple of ok photos, but we were too far away and I gave up and enjoyed the show without it.

Perfection.

It was after the show that things started to go downhill...
We had to pay our parking ticket and the lines were ridiculous. We ended up being there for around 40 minutes just waiting. Then on the drive home we came across a detour on the motorway which took us in a crazy direction through all these small districts, we were just hoping we didn't get lost!
But we made it in one piece, back home at around 2am...

A fantastic night!
Who have you guys seen in concert?

Shake It Out, Shake It Out!

The time has finally come friends! I am about to set off on a road trip to Auckland to bask in the gloriousness that is Florence & The Machine!!

I have my tickets packed...

And my outfit ready!! We have seated tickets so I can avoid the ugly concert wear and tear.

Enjoy you nights lovelies! I know I will...

The Week That Was...

Monday: Monday also means Uni for me. I pretty much have class all day. It was a pretty boring day to be honest. But I did start working on another assignment (boo!) and start reading Fifty Shades Of Grey...read my review here

Tuesday: Today I was supposed to be screening a draft of my film with my group in class BUT our file crapped out and it didn't play! So we spent the afternoon in the editing suite trying to figure out what went wrong and fixing things up as we went. So much time and effort. But luckily for me I got to go see The Avengers again!! This time we went to a different cinema and my goodness it was flash!! Super super fancy! We will definitely be making this our regular theatre spot!

Wednesday: Ummm, crap. I swore to myself I would start writing this stuff down, but clearly I'm useless at keeping track of things. I had class, aaaaand, nothing. I can't remember. Oh except my lovely friend Callie came round for dinner. I was supposed to be cooking for her, but she ended up making delicious rice risotto  and chicken. With brownie for dessert. We caught up, played guitar together and relaxed. A good night!
Here we are at the Bryant Hall Ball
(our college dorm)
Thursday: My day off! Woohoo! I finally got my camera back today (after stupidly leaving it in Tauranga) which made me happy! I went for a long walk around my suburb, listening to my iPod and enjoying the "me time". And of course I did a little work *erm* sort of...

Friday: Firday was full of meetings for me. A little bit of filming in the morning, a meeting with everyone in one of my papers, then another small meeting with my group. After they all finished I was sick of sitting around so in a random burst of energy I decided to go for a run (which is crazy for me, I hate running!) It ended up being a run/walk that got cut off when it started pouring with rain. But still I got some exercise in, then I arrive home to find my flatmates heading to Zumba. Now I LOVE Zumba, I have been going on and off for 3 years now so of course I go with them... Needless to say I was sore on Saturday!

Saturday: Like I said, SORE. I felt like I should have done something exciting , it being Saturday and all, but lots of my friends had gone away for the weekend, my  legs were sore and it was raining. So I lazed around doing homework, writing a little of my novel and watching Criminal Minds. And perving at my favourite character, the adorable Spencer Reid

Sunday: Today I spent the morning in bed watching a horror movie, I went for a walk and took these gorgeous photos, I did some work on my assignment and met with a friend to work on a group one. I then watched my all-time favourite movie School Of Rock with my flatmates. Seriously, its HILARIOUS! I can quote the entire film with my sister!

Hope you all had lovely weeks

Out Of Summertime...

I spent my morning in bed watching an indie horror movie called The Shrine (it wasn't half bad either), as ya do, so by the time the film finished I was a bit stir crazy and decided to go for a walk. It was kind of spitting but not yet full-fledged rain so I was off.

I grabbed my camera like a good little blogger and started wandering around my block. The thing that stood out to me the most was how colourful the plant life was in contrast to the grey skies! Its the autumn/winter phenomenon. Honestly it was gorgeous so I got snap-happy and put on my amateur photographer hat... I'm pretty pleased with the result!

I love how you can see the raindrops on the flower. And I think the lighting is pretty sweet!

The tree is seriously this red!! I didn't edit it or anything!

There are clouds a-gathering! It was about this point when in full on rained on me, I love how spooky
this photo is. But pretty at the same time!

This is my favourite picture I took! I somehow managed to select focus on my non-fancy
camera and the colours are gorgeous!

What do you guys like to photograph?  And when does your inspiration strike?

Getting My Design On...

Hey Lovelies!
As you may have noticed I have got my design on and made myself a little banner for my blog!
I love it! Buuuut I had a one other option that I really liked and I thought I would show it to you anyways.
I would LOVE LOVE LOVE your feedback!

I'm also currently designing one for my friend Abby at her adorable blog Only Impossible Untill Done
So when I have finished I will show ya!

p.s If you want me to design you one I can give it a go! For free as well! Which means if you don't like it, its no harm done!

Book Club Friday...

Thank goodness its friday! I'm very excited that tomorrow is the weekend. University is beginning to stress me out! Gah. Aaaand Friday means that its time for Book Club! I'm linking up with Heather at Blonde Undercover Blonde.

I'm a little embarrassed about what I read this week. I swore to myself I wasn't going to read it, then I just couldn't help myself... luckily I got my flatmate onto it too, so we could discuss the extreme awkwardness together!

50 Shades of Grey by E L James

Fifty Shades of Grey (Fifty Shades, #1)

Synopsis via Amazon

When literature student Anastasia Steele goes to interview young entrepreneur Christian Grey, she encounters a man who is beautiful, brilliant, and intimidating. The unworldly, innocent Ana is startled to realize she wants this man and, despite his enigmatic reserve, finds she is desperate to get close to him. Unable to resist Ana’s quiet beauty, wit, and independent spirit, Grey admits he wants her, too—but on his own terms.

Shocked yet thrilled by Grey’s singular erotic tastes, Ana hesitates. For all the trappings of success—his multinational businesses, his vast wealth, his loving family—Grey is a man tormented by demons and consumed by the need to control. When the couple embarks on a daring, passionately physical affair, Ana discovers Christian Grey’s secrets and explores her own dark desires.

Erotic, amusing, and deeply moving, the Fifty Shades Trilogy is a tale that will obsess you, possess you, and stay with you forever.

My Thoughts

I, uh, erm, whaaaaat?! I honestly don't even know what to say about this book... I have to admit it is gripping, you do want to keep reading and find out what, if anything, is going to happen. And I do like the way James uses Ana's "inner goddess" to describe her feelings etc. its quite well done.

However I have a lot of issues with it. Its not greatly written, but I can forgive it for that, it doesn't really set out to be a literature masterpiece. The main issue I have is that there's no clear plot. Its basically girl, meets boy, girl falls for boy, they have a lot of ridiculously graphic and un-necessary sex. The end. The sex is just so... non-stop. Honestly, there is too much, I would finish awkwardly reading one sex scene and get ready for some more plot development, but no... they just move to a different room and have graphic sex again. Ugh.

I'm yet to read the second one, but unless there's a lot more plot and less sex I doubt I will read the third. There's only so much kinky, descriptive sex a girl can read! All in all a little under-whelmed...

All About Me... A Dash Of Style

I'm not exactly a fashion blog but I have been taking photos of some of my favourite outfits I've worn recently, and I thought this would be a good time to show them off!

I'm not going to say where everythings from like I should because a lot of its thrifted, and the other I probably don't remember (or its a little NZ chain store) But if you want to know, just flick me an email and I will endeavour to fill you in!

I love this dress! The flowery pattern is adorable, and I love the cutout back! Plus how cute are my shoes?!
This is my favourite blouse! I love the lace detailing. And my patterned tights are amazing!
My newest find! I love everything about this dress, the flowers, the collar, the little sleeves!
A flowery blouse and my lilac cardigan. Plus casual, comfy jeans!
Maybe I will post about my style more often. Although I am currently too poor for new clothes (I know! Kill me now!) so we shall see... What do ya think?

All About Me...20 Questions!

Last night while writing my weekly review I found myself unable to remember some of the things I had done during the week and I had to come back and see what I'd Blogged about. So I decided to try and be more productive and organised and start writing down what I will blog about each day. A schedule of sorts. And while planning this week I remembered some of the "get to know me" surveys I had filled out and not posted.

So I am officially dubbing this week "All About Me"
I will post the questions, some photos that sum up my life and anything else that may relate to me! (Along with my weekly Link parties!) So if you have any questions you want me to answer I would love to do so! Send me an email at sinead.elle@hotmail.com

So to kick off the week here is...

20 Questions
(For the life of me I can't remember whose Blog I got this off so I'm sorry!! If you know, tell me and I will give them full credit!)

The thing you cannot leave the house without?
My phone (even though I’m so often running out of credit!) and my camera!

What is your eye/hair colour?
I have whats technically “dark blonde” coloured hair, but to be honest it looks light brown with blonde bits! And I have blue eyes.

Favourite Perfume?
I’m completely in love with Miss Dior by Dior and Daisy by Marc Jacobs. Also Wonderstruck by Taylor Swift!

Heels or flats?
Hmm both! I’d love to be one of those people who can wear heels anywhere but I always feel a little silly unless I’m somewhere fancy!

Favourite Colour?
Blue! But also pastel versions of other colours!

Do you drink juice?
I do! I’m not a huge fan of orange juice (weird I know) but I LOVE LOVE LOVE apple juice

Do you want to get married later in life?
Yes definitely, when the time is right. Also that would involve finding a man first :P

Do you get mad easily?
Not really, I don’t really do angry, I do silently annoyed but thats as far as I generally go. I’m a pretty chill person

Are you into ghost hunting?
Me personally, not so much haha, but I’m obsessed with the TV show Supernatural, so if that was real, heck yes I would ghost hunt!

Most random song on your Ipod?
I think Hanson’s Mmmbop is still on there, which is pretty random but totally awesome!

When was the last time you cried?
Um, I watched an adorable film the other night called Like Crazy, and I cried while watching. I’m a sucker for love stories

Do you love swimming?
I was born in Australia by the beach, and where I live in New Zealand the beach is 2 minutes away; so I can’t not love swimming!

What your favourite restaurant?
I’m a huge fan of most sushi shops, and there’s a little Turkish place in Tauranga called Zeightons that I love!
Do you have any pets?
We have a family cat called Milo who we’ve had for 13 years now, plus two budgies called Cruise and Pepsi. Then at my dad’s is a kitten called Floyd and five chickens!

What is your favourite all time movie?
Ahh! This is too hard! I’m a crazy film fanatic! But if you gun-to-my-head forced me to pick I would say School Of Rock and the Harry Potters, you have no idea how many times I’ve watched these! NO IDEA!

Who is your favourite singer?
Again, no ultimate favourite, but I will always love Fall Out Boy and Taylor Swift. And I’m currently obsessing over Ed Sheeran

What were you afraid of when you were a kid?
Spiders and cockroaches, which hasn’t changed, in fact my phobia of cockroaches has gotten far worse!

What is your current ring tone?
I had to check this one, I don’t often get calls. It’s Sarah Smiles by Panic At The Disco!

Have you ever taken medication to help you fall asleep?
Nope, never. I probably should have though, I’m a terrible sleeper

How many siblings do you have?
A younger sister, 18 and a younger brother, 15. I get along with both of them most of the time

That's all for now :D Untill next time...
xx

The Week That Was...

Monday: Urgh, Monday = Class! Not fun! I was in class all morning and was supposed to be in class all afternoon as well BUT I bailed and went on an exciting road trip with some friends for a super important meeting! Its extremely exciting you guys so read all about it here!

Tuesday: Tuesday was a little boring after the excitement of Mondays trip, I had class in the morning where my project group and I got a lot of planning done. We have to make a short film which is always fun! Downside is I then have to be in it :/ I hate being the actor and the editor, it makes it very difficult to edit when its you in the shot! Oh! And I finally saw the Avengers, and of course it was fab... read all about my thoughts in my review!

Wednesday: Today was filming day! We spent the whole afternoon filming in a graveyard in the rain! I got absolutely soaked but filming is always fun so it was worth it!

I'm obviously taking the whole thing very seriously!

All photos are courtesy of Abby! She got a little snap happy while we were out and about!

Thursday: Hmmm Thursday, I honestly can't remember if I did anything or not, I should start writing this stuff down. I didn't have class so chances are I sat around playing guitar and watching Smallville. I went for a walk while it was sunny outside but it was like walking through a freezer so it didn't last long!

Friday: More Uni work, a meeting for a different project that is always slow and painful! Then more filming, this time however wasn't outside and it didn't go as well. We will probably re-film at some point but we just needed some shots to show in class next week. I then did some super quick editing to end up with a draft of the film! Its looking pretty good! My friend Rachel and I then watched 21 Jump Street, which is pretty hilarious!

Saturday: Fun, fun day but a ridiculous amount of junk food was consumed! I spent the afternoon watching both Ironman movies with friends, I hadn't seen them before I saw Avengers so I needed to see them! And because I was home alone for the night, and so was Rachel we decided the only thing to do was watch horror movies and freak ourselves out! Yay! Also this song has been playing in my head since Saturday night when we watched the Supernatural season finale and it blew my mind! This is my favourite show ever!

Sunday: Which brings us to today... It is unbelievably freezing today! Like living in ice! I have spent it huddled up with my guitar, attempting to play whilst wearing woolly gloves (heads up, its very difficult!) and watching Smallville again (I'm seriously addicted! I'm watching it through for the 3rd time!) The I got my geek on and played Spyro on playstation for the remainder of the evening! A very relaxing day for meeee
