My Friends are GREAT Liars...

Tuesday was my 21st birthday.

I spent the morning on the couch watching Cougar Town, then I went and finally saw Les Miserables with my friend Imogen. I then got the lounge set up for a old school sleepover extravaganza. 

Little did I know my friends had been lying to me for weeks and had a bit of a surprise in store....

So some background info to this story. My best friend Alanna has spent the last 12 months living in Calcutta, India. 12 whole months. Obviously I missed her like crazy. Now she had told me her flight home was on the 6th of Feb, the day after my birthday. I had accepted this, she was coming to my party so I wasn't too bummed.

HOWEVER

I hear Rachel and Imogen (who remember I had been hanging out with all afternoon) arrive at my house, and all of a sudden I'm told to stay away from the windows, apparently they had a big present and I wasn't allowed to see it yet. So then obliviously I wander downstairs to find this at my door...

BEST BIRTHDAY SURPRISE EVER!

Obviously, what with my squealing and crying reaction, I had no clue this was about to happen, so I have come to the conclusion my friends are extremely good liars. It really was the best gift!

Ignore my tired face, I got about 3 hours sleep that night!

Now to catch up on some sleep, plan for my party on Saturday, and spend some time with my friends! 21 is going to be a great year!

21 Years Young...

That's right kids, today (or tomorrow depending where you are) is my 21st Birthday!

It's kind of bizarre saying I am 21 now, I still can't really wrap my head around the whole in my twenties thing. Although in my friend circle I am one of the babies of the bunch, so I guess I should be used to 21 by now.

This last year has been non-stop 21st celebrations, which has been fantastic, bringing everybody back together after sometimes years apart. As today is a Tuesday,  unfortunately I will be home alone most of the day :( but tonight I am having a sleepover with a few close friends, going old school with sleeping on the floor, eating pizza and watching movies. 

But come Saturday it's party time!

I am having a whole bunch of people who have had an influence on my last 21 years come together and help me celebrate! There will be pink punch, a castle cake, cute candles, and lots of music and laughter. I cannot wait!

I have a feeling 21 is going to be my best year yet!

Moving On Up!

So the excitement I was hinting at yesterday is this...

I got a job!

Today is my first day of training at Bling, a cute, cheap jewellery store here in New Zealand!

At this point I will only be working two days a week (which sucks for saving purposes) but is a great start, considering I have been unemployed for about four months now since I finished University. I have never worked in retail before so I'm a little nervous, but also quite excited!

A Disney Day Out...

Hello Everyone!! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, I definitely did. It was a long weekend here in New Zealand, and while this doesn't really affect me (the joys of not doing much, although good news to come below!) it did mean I got to spend the day with the family wandering around in the sun.

However the big highlight of my weekend was road tripping up to Auckland with Rachel, to meet some of the other Disney girls who will be heading to Florida with us come August. In the end five of us attended the little meeting, which turned out perfectly!

We started by polishing off a huge New York style pizza, which I felt was quite fitting for the event

Then we picked up some Starbucks and headed down to the water to have some fun. Auckland was buzzing with festivals for us to enjoy so we went down to the Silo Park Markets and enjoyed the buskers, live bands, and beautiful weather!

There we all are (except Sunnie who had to leave early)! I had a blast meeting all the girls, and we all got a long so well, which is encouraging for our future trip! I am looking forward to our next meet-up. Hopefully with a few new people, and in Tauranga so we can show off our city!
