I have had a bunch of emails from you guys asking me about my Disney ICP adventure, and exactly what it is I am getting myself into...
Walt Disney World in Florida has a series of programs that allow students, or recent graduates to work at the Disney Parks and have a life changing experience. I, obviously, am involved in the Australia/New Zealand segment of the International Program. But there are options for everyone, it all began with an American College program after all!
This is the little blurb from the Disney International Programs website about exactly what I am involved in...
The Australia/New Zealand Work Experience provides international students the opportunity to travel to the U.S. and spend a year working at the Walt Disney World Resort experiencing the Disney magic. Participants will have the oppotunity to interact and share their culture with Guests from the U.S. and from all over the world, learn important business philosophies and make lifelong friends.
While participating in this program at the Walt Disney World® Resort near Orlando, Florida, participants work in such roles as operations, merchandise, quick service food and beverage and lifeguards. In addition to the valuable skills gained through the day-to-day responsibilities of their job, participants will have the opportunity to learn skills from Disney leaders, participate in special Cast Member learning activities and networking events, take advantage of our Disney Learning Centers and add work experience with one of the most admired companies in the world to their C.V.
There is a whole bunch of information on there about the living, learning, and earning experiences that are available on the programs, and I have been religiously been reading all the info, and getting excited about what I will be doing next year!
I know you have all heard about my excitement, but seriously guys. The only two countries I have been to are New Zealand and Australia, I was born in Australia and I now live in New Zealand. So on the life experience front its not all that much. I have always wanted to go to America, like always. Being a TV and film junkie makes it kind of impossible to not want to go there. And now I get to live there for a year. Holy balls!
There is quite a lengthy process involved in applying to work at the most magical place in the world, so I am thinking I will dedicate a few posts to exactly how I got the most exciting news of my life.
What do you think? Are you interested?

What a great experience! I can understand why new graduates and students would go for an opportunity like that. Not only is it fun and rewarding but also a good thing to have on a cv! :)

I'm so jealous! I was a holiday rep when I was younger and worked in France but if I'd known about this programme I would have applied straight away, it sounds like such an amazing opportunity!
Can't wait to see what you get up to while you're there, good luck and have loads of fun!
