Dress Up Queen

Anyone who knows me, knows there is nothing I like more than a good dress up party. (Except, you know, food and sleep and stuff)

But dressing up comes pretty close.

Over the years I have rocked many different costumes, and have impersonated various different personas. And today I though I would share some with you, cause we all need a laugh sometimes.

*Beware an onslaught of photos*

A Mexican

An Eighties Child

A Pirate/Sailor

A Fifties Pin Up

A Bohemian

A Pirate (again)

A Victorian Lady

A Hipster Superhero

As you can see, I'm a fan of the cliche. A good theme makes for a good night dontcha think?!
What are your favourite dress up themes?

Never Drink Out of a Parrot...

I come to you today baring advice.

Never drink out of a parrot.

I attended one of my best friends 21st parties Saturday night, and it was an interesting night to say the least. It started off like this...

And ended... Well lets just say it ended messy.
So a little advice.

  • Don't drink out of a parrot.
  • Don't drink wine through a straw (this one is quite important)
  • Don't drink on an empty stomach. You will be too drunk later to grab any snacks.

Your welcome. Now in saying that. I had an awesome night, with some awesome people. So maybe drinking out of a parrot is a good thing. Just don't do all three points in one night.

A Perfect Sunday...

I know, I know. Its Thursday and I'm only just writing about my Sunday, but I have the flu and have had a lot on this week, so I think I can be forgiven...

Sunday brought the first (but probably not the last) O.C marathon/ Dessert party/ Crafty day for Abby and I.
We pigged out on delicious cupcakes, cookie dough dip (which is the best thing ever!), cheesecake and pizza. It was pouring with rain outside and we were covered in blankets. The O.C has got to be one of my all time favs and I find it so comforting watching it over and over. We also got out our crafty bits and pieces and made a few things (photos to come). So all in all it was a perfect day, and we will definitely do it again. Although maybe a little less sugar next time...

I'm working on getting back on top of my blogging schedule. I promise!

Party Hard Kids

This Saturday night I donned blue jeans, a white shirt and red boots in order to celebrate "America the Beautiful" That's right, I may be a New Zealander but I still rocked the colours of some of you lovely ladies favourite flag.

It was the 21st birthday of one of my theatre classmates, and she just happens to be on an exchange from America. hence the theme. If I'm totally honest I didn't rock the outfit for very long. Somehow my feet have shrunk (does this happen?) and my red boots are now waay to big for me. So after wearing 3 pairs of socks under the boots for 30 minutes I thougth stuff it and took them off. Which is why I look severly underdressed in all the photos of the night. Oh well.

It was a fantastic night that lasted until around 4am with me stumbling through my door in the pouring rain, and trying not to wake my flatmates up. I succeeded. I'm like a ninja.
21 Shots for the birthday girl

She only managed about 7 of them. I may have helped with 2 or 3

Beautiful pink Beer Pong cups!

I subbed on for Amanda when she needed a break. I lost.

Luckily Amanda took the fall and became the "Troll" under the table. Apparently its the rule when you lose... Who knew?

Kicking it Off With a Bang!

I have to admit, I was not at all excited for the first day of B semester... I am at the point where I am sick of school and I really want it to be over (12 weeks to go Sinead, 12 weeks to go!)

And it seemed like B semester wasn't exactly happy to see me either. Pouring with rain, freezing temperatures and grey skies greeted me this morning as I dragged myself out of bed for my 10am meeting ( I am NOT a morning person). I spent the next five hours sitting around discussing projects, whining about said projects, listening to an ancient lecturer talk about his life and generally falling asleep.

I was then back at 5pm for two hours of Theatre which involved walking around the theatre and analysing how we walked, lying and the floor and practising breathing (because its so difficult) and talking about Absurd Theatre.

HOWEVER

The night turned itself around as I went out with friends and flat mates to the "Re-Oweek" Bar Quiz...
A few drinks and 1 HOUR LATER 60 teams were ready to play. It took two hours longer than it was supposed to, and we went through topics like "Theme Songs" (which we rocked!) "Sex Ed" (which we failed miserably) "Sports" "Current Events" and a couple of others...

Sorry for the average photos :(

And guess who came a respectable 3rd and took home a $100 bar tab? Yup thats right, my team! BOO YAH! Norfolk Enchants (read this aloud... Get it?!) gets the prize!

Hopefully it keeps getting better and better, then I may actually survive my last semester {EVER}

Childhood Flashbacks...

As I said in my weekly review post, I spent Saturday night partying it up with friends at a Childhood themed 21st. You could dress as a favourite childhood character, what you wanted to be when you were younger, or anything childhood related!! It was a blast!

I had a few ideas of what to go as but the one I chose was Gypsy Traveller. I always wanted to be like Esmeralda from The Hunchback of Notre Dame and travel around the country in a cute ittle caravan pulled by horses and selling dream catchers. So that night my dream came true!
I went for bright colours, a flowy skirt, lots of jewellery, and bright eye makeup!
I was pretty happy with how it turned out!

Continuing with the childhood theme, there was party bags, pass-the-parcel, little grow-your-own animals and prizes to be won! In pass-the-parcel I won a book full of dragon tattoos which I went on to apply to people all night. I think around 30 people went home with a dragon tattoo that night! Including me!
All in all it was a great night! Its good to relive your childhood occasionally...
What were your favourite childhood games?
