Dress Up Queen

Anyone who knows me, knows there is nothing I like more than a good dress up party. (Except, you know, food and sleep and stuff)

But dressing up comes pretty close.

Over the years I have rocked many different costumes, and have impersonated various different personas. And today I though I would share some with you, cause we all need a laugh sometimes.

*Beware an onslaught of photos*

A Mexican

An Eighties Child

A Pirate/Sailor

A Fifties Pin Up

A Bohemian

A Pirate (again)

A Victorian Lady

A Hipster Superhero

As you can see, I'm a fan of the cliche. A good theme makes for a good night dontcha think?!
What are your favourite dress up themes?

That Time I Graduated...

I know, I know. It's been quite a while. My Laptop is still on the fritz and its harder to be blog motivated when you are constantly working from other peoples laptops. But I'm back for the moment, as I just had to brag about a pretty huge life event.

I Graduated from University!!! I now officially have a Bachelor of Media and Creative Technologies.

There I am, rocking that Cap and Gown like nobodies business. It was such a fun day, my family and friends were there, and I felt proud. Proud of what I have managed to accomplish, even though I'm not sure what to do next, or if my Bachelor will be used. I like to think it will, but either way, I made it through a 3 year Degree, with assignments, exams, creative projects and I did well!

So I am patting myself on the back. And to my friends who also graduated this week.

Congrats kids, we did it!!

What a Busy Bee...

I am beyond happy that it is Friday today. I plan on sitting in my bed, watching horror movies and not moving. At all. Ahhh bliss...

I am linking up with Lauren today for High Five for Friday! And I am high-fiving like crazy over here (or mentally high fiving myself) because I have a lot to be excited about!!

  • I have finished my short film, which is my last assignment of University EVER! All I have to do now is hand it in on Monday and I will be DONE FOR GOOD!
Here is a screen shot of my film :) I'm pretty happy with the imagery, but the overall outcome is a little iffy.

  • I have been doing Movie/TV exercises lately, in an attempt to get fit and ready myself for the Florida sun next year! So far this is my favourite... (i'm a little obsessed!)

  • I move out of my flat on Sunday and back to sunny Tauranga. I'm very excited, mostly about rearranging my bedroom! I love setting things up, and making them look pretty!

  • I have been working my little butt off designing up a storm, and I am loving it! I have officially decided on prices, but I am having a lot of trouble with PayPal. Do any of you guys know the best way to charge people for online services? Anything other than PayPal? Here are a few of my most recent designs!!

I love em! Don't you?!

  • It is almost Summer here in New Zealand!! I am so excited to get some colour back into my pasty white skin! And the beach... Oh the beach!
This is across the road from my house... How lucky am I!

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend, I will be relaxing tomorrow, then breaking my back trying to move the horrendous amount of stuff I have accumulated!

Enjoy yourselves lovelies

How Do I Have so Much Crap?

I am kind of stuck on what to write about today...

I feel like all I have talked about lately is my excitement for Disney, my exasperation over university, and my shiny new design business. These things have been all consuming lately, so once in a while its nice to take a break and do other things. So lately...

  • I have started playing guitar regularly again. For a while I was too busy, or too lazy to put much effort into playing, but have recently picked it up again. And I am loving it! Its such a nice way to sit down and waste an hour or so, although my poor fingers are paying for their time away from those steel strings.

  • I move out of my flat in around two weeks and I keep forgetting. It doesn't really feel like the school year is over (FOREVER this time!) And I have only just started realising I need to get ready to move. I decided to get a jump start on the packing process today because I looked around my room and could not believe how much I had packed into such a tiny space! Seriously, you wouldn't believe what kind of stuff I lugged between cities, just because I didn't want to throw it away. I think I am a borderline hoarder. Today I managed to throw away three bags of paper rubbish and one bag of other useless crap, and I have barely scratched the surface. This is going to be a huge mission...

  • I have got back into photography, and have been regularly borrowing a DSLR from uni so I can practise. I definitely need to get one of my own. When I'm not saving up to go half way round the world for a year...

So there you have it, my "inbetween" time is spent doing these things! Sorry i'm not sorry if you are getting sick of me blabbing about Disney, or design stuff, or uni... But this is basically my life at the moment, and I write about me! In the next few months this blog will be going through a few Disney related changes (including a new design, which I obviously LOVE) so I hope you stick with me on my new adventures...

Flights of Absurdia...

I have been somewhat absent lately, and I apologise. Life has been moving in overdrive lately, and I'm still finding it hard to believe!

I have officially finished classes at University FOREVER! That's right! Only four assignments to go and I will have a degree! I cannot believe how quickly the last 3 years have gone, but I am definitely ready for it to be over and to move on with my life!

My theatre show Flights of Absurdia has officially ended as well, which is a relief and quite sad. I had a lot of fun working on it, became good friends with the people in my class and really enjoyed the whole experience. However it was exhausting! An entire week full of rehearsals, performances, late nights and acting my lil butt off! It was tiring, I'm covered in bruises, but it was worth it! The show was based on absurd theatre principles and it was definitely weird to say the least!

Typical theatre class "JAZZ HANDS"

I'm currently attempting to set up a payment method for SineadElle Designs, help and tips would be very much appreciated. Prices have been decided on!! More on this later :D

Once I work through my last assignments I can do design work full-time (until I find a job!) and keep saving for Disney!!

I am super happy right now!

Oh Lordy...

I am exhausted.

See over there on my sidebar it says I'm a Theatre Kid? That doesn't just mean I enjoy theatre, I study it.

And today I spent ALL day packing in for my final performance. ALL DAY on a Sunday no less!

So now I plan on sleeping for eternity. Or at least until tomorrow when I have to go back for the tech rehearsal.
Man I wish I could be this cat!

It seems somewhat unfair that there is only one week left of uni, and I still have six assignments to complete...

On the bright side I have been working on three lovely ladies blog designs, and I think I am narrowing down on pricing so I will be available to do more very soon! If you are interested, check out my design page and let me know :) I would love to work with you!

I have also been obsessively reading Disney ICP Blogs and getting overexcited when I don't really have time to. I am already counting down!! (296 days to go!)

This is going to be short and sweet kids. I need to sleep. Or drink coffee. Probably coffee as I have more work to do.

If you never hear from me again, its probably because I have spontaneously combusted. Just know I love you all!!

(dramatic much?)

Oo-De-Lally, Oo-De-Lally Golly What a Day!

Hello hello hello!!

I have had a rush of new readers recently so I thought I would do a little "Hi I'm Sinead" post just to say hi and update everyone :)

So I'm Sinead...
I live in sunny lil' New Zealand,

I am a huge film buff, a TV addict, a bit of a geek, I love to read and drink coffee, I am a budding blog designer currently working for free to build up my design portfolio. I love to dabble in guitar playing, singing, acting, and photography. I get excited about the smallest things and I love making friends.

I'm currently stressing and pushing through the last three weeks of my University degree, majoring in Screen & Media. After that I am done with school! I cannot wait! Up until a few months ago I had no idea what to do with myself after I finished school.

Then I made a huge decision. I interviewed for a position in the Disney International College Program. I was terrified and so excited. I then had to wait the longest two weeks of my life for an email letting me know my fate...

A week ago I got said email. And I GOT IN!! I am officially a Disney Cast Member for August 2013, and will be living and working at Walt Disney World for an entire year. Having never been to the States you could say I'm a little nervous...

So now I am desperately seeking a job, procrastinating my nine remaining assignments (with only two weeks to do them!!) and geeking out about Disney every chance I get! I love this little bloggy community we live in and I love hearing from my readers, and getting to know them!

So I hope you all stick around and say hi, I'm off to write an essay about 'creative labour', even though I have no idea what it is! Wish me luck!

Phew...

Wow.

What a week. Actually scratch that. Three weeks. This semester has been beyond hectic and its still not over! I spent the last week working on finishing my short film, learning theatre lines, working on another film for a doomed group project, going to classes every day, and trying to fit a billion other things into my days.

Good news, my film is finished! And I'm very happy with it! I may début it here later on in the week if you guys are interested...

Also it is officially spring here in New Zealand, the sun is shining and the days are longer which is fantastic! I wore a dress with no tights for the first time in ages. I'm also weaning myself off using my hot water bottle, which I love even when its hot.

Bad news. I'm exhausted. I keep sleeping through my alarms because it has just been non-stop around here. That being said, there is only three weeks of uni left for me (EVER) and I cannot wait! I'm also slightly terrified, real world and all that. But if I had to do this for any longer I would drop. So "three more weeks, three more weeks" has been my mantra lately, and I'm on constant countdown mode.

(This? YES!)

So if I'm a tiny bit absent around here (as in not posting every day) this is why. 3 more weeks people!
I'm off to re-read Harry Potter for the billionth time (not exaggerating) and have a cup of tea or twelve. Here's to the new week loves, enjoy it for me!

A Big Ball of Stress...

I have not been having an easy time lately. There's a lot of stress up in here.
Even though I am currently on holiday (technically teaching recess) I have a heap of work to do.

I got home the other night to the worst news I could possibly imagine. One of the guys in my group had been robbed and ALL of our footage for our film (due in 3 weeks) had been stolen. We had been working on this for quite a long time and it was just starting to come together so I was absolutely gutted. And freaking out.

On top of trying to figure out what to do for that project, I have to make a different short film for another paper (even though I don't have access to a camera. or an idea. eep!), write an essay for my theatre paper, start looking at another essay, start filling out all my Disney paperwork, try to catch up with my friends, and attempt to still have a life. Phew. No wonder I'm so exhausted lately.

But, hopefully things are starting to look up. We got an extension for the stolen footage film and I may now have access to a camera. Small things, but it definitely helps.

You know what else helps?
Reading all your sweet comments! You guys are the best! Every time I open up my email and see comments from you all, I get so happy! Thank you x

On Your Screen is back this week and I have the new topic for you today! And its a goodie!

TV Shows You Love to Hate

Its a bit of a tough one, I had to think about it for a while but I think I know what I'm going to write about...
I'm looking forward to reading your posts! So please come back tomorrow and join us. And spread the word if you can, tell your friends! I know you all have at least one show you hate!

Life As I Know It

Fingers crossed things go well, and I have a little more time on my hands, and a little less stress!

Wanderlust...

I have been hit with an extreme case of wanderlust recently...
I have been so busy with Uni projects, super stressed out, and exhausted in general.
I am really looking forward to this yea being over, finally graduating, and starting my life!

Which is why I am currently in wanderlust with Florida.

I mentioned earlier in the year that my friends and I are applying for a International Intern-ship at Disneyworld, Florida. My friend and former flatmate Abbie got into the January program, and Rachel and I are applying for the August program. Our interviews are in September and I'm freaking out!

I have never been to Disneyland, never even been to the USA so I am so excited about the chance to live over there for a year! I really want to get in, as I don't know what I want to do with my life yet, so this would be the perfect filler until I know for sure. Plus, Disney, how cool would that be!

Florida looks so pretty, and despite the heat and humidity issues me and my hair would have, I am crossing my fingers and praying that I get accepted! In the meantime I am dreaming of Florida beaches...

And meanwhile I will be wading through piles of work, dreaming of escaping to Florida!

Wacky Theatre Antics #2

So I have posted about my crazy Theatre class before and I have a new instalment for you all! Today was definitely one of the stranger things I have done in theatre...

At the start of class we had to stand up and present a short story about a childhood memory or something similar. Once we were all done, our lecturer stood up, got out a bottle of talcum powder, and began pouring it on the floor.

We then proceeded to repeat the storytelling exercise while walking in the talcum powder! I was the first one to go so my footprints were first! It was oddly satisfying.

We then carried on with class as normal spreading the powder everywhere. And I mean everywhere. It got into every nook and cranny and I am glad I didn't have to clean it all up!

So fun and interesting times in my neck of the woods!

AND

Don't forget to come back tomorrow and link-up with Abby and I for
Life As I Know It

This weeks theme is...

Favourite TV Shows from the 90's

Oh the joy!! Bad fashion and cheesy lines. In all its glory!
So come back tomorrow and join us for the fun!

Wacky Theatre Antics...

You may or may not know but I am not only a film geek Screen Media major, but I also dabble in a bit of Theatre Studies as my minor. And I just had to fill you in a little on what we have been doing recently in my class. Cause its pretty ridiculous!

So for my current paper we have to devise our own play to perform at the end of the semester. Ok doesn't sound too bad right? On top of that we are doing absurd theatre, so basically it has to be entertaining but not make much sense...

So my lecturer has decided the best way for us to come up with a brilliant, entertaining, ground breaking piece of absurd theatre is to do crazy warm-ups at the start of class, then write how we felt about each weird little thing.

I feel like we look like this ALL the time!
via

And boy are they weird! So far we have practised walking in front of each other, held each others ankles and shuffled around on the floor, wrapped people up as mummies, pretended to be magnets and attached ourselves to other people, made magazines flap around like birds, done 80's aerobics, practised stretching our voices (involves a lot of weird sighing and mouthing like an idiot) and acting a 24 hour day in 2 minutes. I never know what to expect! I have come home with bruises on my knees and arms from falling on the ground and crawling around the floor.
Its definitely absurd.

Yup we have done this one too...
via

But I love it! All I know is we are 5 weeks in and haven't started writing the play itself...
It is going to be an interesting semester...
